Another Home
The film was honored with the 2024 Busan International Film Festival Mecenat Award for Best Asian Documentary, and this time Wwwind studio is proud to have collaborated with director Frankie SIN on the visual effects for this generational and era-spanning documentary.
On the shores of Cheung Chau, a small outlying island in southern Hong Kong, sits a humble grocery stall called “Ri-Tai Food Stall.”
This documentary not only captures the warmth of human connections and the rhythms of a fishing village, but also records the profound transformations in Hong Kong during times of social upheaval and the pandemic.
In this project, Wwwind studio took a subtle role in crafting the visual effects, focusing on screen compositing—seamlessly integrating elements such as television broadcasts, footage of social movements, and interface designs. These details immerse the audience in the intersection of personal lives and historic events. Built from real materials, the interfaces and on-screen content may pass unnoticed, yet they hold crucial narrative weight—subtle but emotionally resonant—allowing viewers to enter the story effortlessly.
Through these details in visual effects, we add another layer of memory to the passage of time at this seaside stall.
